Stormwater Pump Station Control Panel Upgrade
Modernized unreliable legacy controls in a stormwater pump station—replacing GE Series 90-30 PLC, relay logic, old Panalarm annunciator panel, and maintenance-intensive bubbler level sensing with a robust, low-maintenance system.
Key Upgrades:
- Schneider Modicon M340 PLC for advanced, reliable logic execution.
- Harmony ST6 HMI (HMIST6500, 10″ touchscreen) with custom screens.
- VEGA radar level sensor (non-contact, replacing bubbler tube for superior accuracy and zero upkeep).
- Control of 3 Caterpillar diesel pumps: engine RPM monitoring, variable speed settings, lead/lag alternation, and gate valve controls.
- Features include real-time level indication/control, PID loops, target setpoints, comprehensive alarms, and Ethernet integration to a collector PLC for seamless main SCADA system connectivity.
Result: Dramatically enhanced uptime, reduced maintenance needs, precise level regulation, and efficient stormwater management with full SCADA visibility.
